Implementation Begins for Regulations Governing Hussaini Mourning Processions and Their Movement

The Al-Abbas Shrine has announced a plan to regulate the movement of Husseini processions, setting specific guidelines for their entry and exit. In a statement by the head of the Department of Rituals and Husseini Processions, it was confirmed that the department began issuing permits for the arrival of Ataraf (district) processions and religious groups in Karbala over ten days ago.

He explained that the first ten days of Muharram are designated specifically for the people of Karbala, unlike the Arbaeen pilgrimage which involves visitors from all over the world.

He also noted that processions began entering the shrine on the morning of the first Friday of Muharram, with a formal reception for the Zanjil processions. The entry of mourning processions continued late into the night.

Fadala pointed out that participants have adhered to the established regulations, emphasizing the presence of joint civil defense units to raise safety awareness.

He added that the shrine contains four designated platforms for mourning ceremonies, which have been fully equipped with sound systems and special pathways, along with high-level coordination with the relevant security forces.
