Tehran Museum Hosts the Arbaeen Heritage Festival

Tehran – An international festival dedicated to Arbaeen heritage is scheduled to be held on July 21–22 at the National Museum of the Islamic Revolution and Holy Defense in Tehran.

The event aims to honor the culture of Arbaeen and highlight the spiritual, cultural, and artistic aspects of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

According to the organizers, the festival will serve as a platform for the lovers of Imam al-Husayn (AS) to document, narrate, and explain the various dimensions of Arbaeen’s spiritual and cultural heritage.

The event will also shed light on the role of the Arbaeen pilgrimage in advancing cultural technologies and software related to pilgrimage and spiritual tourism.

Arbaeen marks the end of a forty-day mourning period following the martyrdom of the third Shia Imam (AS) and his companions at the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE. Each year, millions of Shia Muslims from around the world journey to Karbala, many of them walking hundreds of kilometers as an expression of faith.
