The Imam al-Hasan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) Pilgrims’ City, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn and located on the Karbala–Najaf road, has finalized its service and logistical preparations to welcome the pilgrims of the Arbaeen of Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him) who arrive on foot toward Karbala.
Comprehensive Service Plan
Assistant Director of the City, Mr. Ali al-Muslimani, stated that “Imam al-Hasan al-Mujtaba City (peace be upon him) has completed its preparations to receive pilgrims as part of a comprehensive service plan prepared by the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn for this year, with the aim of providing the best services befitting the greatness of the occasion.”
He explained that “the preparations included equipping halls designated for overnight stays and rest, in addition to setting up fully air-conditioned and furnished tents to accommodate the increasing numbers of pilgrims.”
He further noted that “both the indoor and outdoor guesthouses have been prepared to serve meals, cold drinks, and Hussaini hospitality around the clock.”
Free Services
Al-Muslimani added that “free services will include laundry and ironing, maintenance of strollers and wheelchairs, as well as shoe and bag repair.”
He pointed out that “the outdoor guesthouse will operate 24 hours a day, providing a variety of meals along with juices, fruits, cold yogurt, and water, which will be distributed directly along the pilgrims’ path as an extension of the table of Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him).”
He continued: “We have allocated a fully equipped center for the lost and found and free communications, supported by a modern electronic system linked to a database network along the pilgrims’ route. A badge system for children has also been adopted to ensure their safety and facilitate their return to their families if needed.”
Educational and Cultural Activities
He confirmed that “in cooperation with the intellectual and cultural departments of the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn, the city will host various awareness activities, including interactive Quranic stations supervised by the Holy Quran House, cultural programs at the Pilgrim’s Station, educational activities by the Child Care and Development Department, language services by the Translation and International Publishing Center, intellectual content from the Fajr Ashura Center, as well as legal consultations and jurisprudential guidance provided by the Fatwa and Religious Guidance Unit.”
Field Hospital
Al-Muslimani added that “the field hospital inside the city—established in cooperation with the Muthanna Health Department and the Medical Directorate of the Popular Mobilization Forces—includes 50 beds, an emergency operating room, laboratories, ultrasound and X-ray devices, and a fully equipped pharmacy providing free treatment for pilgrims.”
To ensure a healthy and comfortable environment, he announced the provision of dozens of cooling devices, heat-insulating covers for open areas, continuous operation of cold water stations and an ice production facility, in addition to free internet service and an integrated security system comprising more than 300 smart cameras, coordinated with the Security Preservation Department of the Holy Shrine, to ensure protection and organize the movement of pilgrims.
