The President of the Red Crescent Society, speaking about the arrangements for commemorating Arbaeen, confirmed that around 8,000 relief volunteers will be serving pilgrims inside Iraq alone.
Pirhossein Kolivand, President of the Red Crescent Society, announced this morning on the sidelines of the ceremony for dispatching service caravans to Arbaeen, held near the shrine of Imam Khomeini (RA). Referring to the important role of Arbaeen in strengthening international diplomacy and Muslim solidarity, he stated:
“We have learned from Arbaeen the manifestations of true diplomacy and have continued along this path. The international solidarity among Muslims and the axis of resistance is clearly reflected in the great Arbaeen pilgrimage.”
He added that “the cultural, religious, and social bond between the Iranian and Iraqi peoples is truly commendable. Arbaeen is a link between hearts, and today, with the official start of sending relief and health aid caravans to Iraq, this glory takes on a new dimension. Despite the availability of basic infrastructure, the dispatch of volunteers officially began today.”
Kolivand further stated that the Red Crescent Society is fully prepared:
“The necessary equipment, including medicines, ambulances, command vehicles, rescue vehicles, and logistical supplies, has been provided in sufficient quantities.”
He concluded by noting that around 8,000 volunteers will serve pilgrims inside Iraq, while more than 70,000 personnel will be responsible for providing relief services inside Iran, covering the eastern and western border areas as well as transportation routes.
