Around 1,000 volunteers from the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad have been deployed across key Iraqi cities—including Najaf, Karbala, Kadhimiya, and Samarra—to run service mukhebs for Arbaeen pilgrims offering food, lodging, healthcare, cultural programs, small repairs and symbolic items like salt, sugar and bread. Organized under the auspices of Astan Quds Razavi, these teams aim to transmit "a message of compassion and dignity" to millions walking in remembrance of Imam Hussein, extending traditional shadow of Iranian shrine services beyond Mashhad before and after Arbaeen.
