Imam Hussein’s Guesthouse in Karbala: Six Million Meals to Be Served During the Arbaeen Pilgrimage

Adnan Qahtan Al-Naqeeb, head of the department, stated in a press interview that “the plan includes the opening of several food distribution points, including locations outside Karbala Province such as the Shalamcheh border crossing in Basra Province and the Zurbatiyah border crossing in Wasit Province.”

He added that “inside Karbala Province, food service points are located in the Tarbeia area, Al-Dariba area, Bab Baghdad, the Courtyard of Lady Zainab (peace be upon her), as well as the main Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) Guesthouse at Bab al-Karama inside the Holy Shrine, and the main kitchen on Al-Sidra Street.” He further noted that “the plan also includes a fully equipped mobile guesthouse that will provide meals to pilgrims along the roads leading to Karbala Province.”

He explained that “the Guesthouse Department serves three main meals daily—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—in addition to fruits, juices, and ice cream.”

He stressed that “all meals provided are subject to health monitoring and laboratory testing through the laboratories of the Health and Medical Education Authority at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).”

This plan comes as part of the efforts of the Imam Hussein Guesthouse Department, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), to provide the best hospitality and services to pilgrims visiting Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in Iraq and in the holy city of Karbala during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
