Literary
competitions hold a special significance for participants, as they represent a
means of developing abilities and building self-confidence. They give
participants the opportunity to showcase their talent through organizing ideas
and constructing images that make the written text a reflection of the
emotional experience of its creator, who seeks for his literary work to appear
in the form he wishes, so as to gain the appreciation of the audience
regardless of their cultural background.
Because the
cause of Imam Husayn and his eternal revolution is deeply rooted in minds and
hearts, carrying multiple meanings as a great victory against the enemies of
religion and humanity, specifically the rulers of the Umayyad house, this cause
has always been a source of inspiration for writers, poets, and thinkers. From
it, they draw the highest values of moral and intellectual elevation.
The
administration of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the holy
Al-Husayn Shrine has been keen to provide opportunities for poets and writers
to express what stirs in their hearts—faith-inspired images manifested in the
crowds of pilgrims visiting the tomb of Abu Abdullah Husayn, and in the various
scenes and experiences they encounter.
